About the Artist

Lane Guyot was born in South Dakota and grew up in Burnsville, Minnesota.  He learned how to paint from his grandmother, who showed him how to paint on saws and saw blades. He became a master first at tie-dyeing fabrics, then at painting on fabric.

The tradition of Freemasonry in his family runs back generations. His father and most of his mother’s family were all Masons. Lane became a Mason himself in 1978. He is a Past Master of Cataract Lodge No. 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is also a Knight Commander of the Court of Honor for the Minneapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, 32° and Widows Sons, chapter Cryptic Master, out of Anoka, MN.

Lane’s other interests include motorcycles, especially his Harley Davidson. He is a member of the Masonic Motorcycle Club International, Chapter 24. Given his artistic ability, it’s not surprising to learn that he is also a professional baker and cake decorator.

"My tie totally reflects my personal interests, Masonry, road trips, and love of the Rocky Mountains. I receive many positive comments about it, leading to great conversations about Lane's artistry and style. Each of Lane’s Ties are unique and specially customized for the recipient." – Worshipful Brother Lew Price, 32°
